Fragrance house

Jesus Del Pozo

Jesús del Pozo opened his first menswear boutique on Madrid’s Calle del Almirante in 1974, establishing the namesake fashion house. The house moved from menswear into womenswear, with a first men’s collection presented in Paris in 1976 and women’s prêt-à-porter beginning in 1980. Its international presentation included Tokyo in 1989 and Paris in 1990, alongside the industrialization of the JDP label. Del Pozo’s creative identity was associated with conceptual design, experimental womenswear, and an emphasis on volume and materiality. He received Spain’s Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts in 1998 and was a founder of the Association of Fashion Creators in 1999. Perfumes y Diseño began producing Jesús del Pozo fragrances in 1989, launching Duende in 1992. Halloween, introduced in 1997, became the defining fragrance success associated with the house, with 10 million 100 ml Eau de Toilette bottles sold by 2024. After Del Pozo’s death in 2011, Perfumes y Diseño took control of the fashion house and relaunched it internationally as DELPOZO in 2012. Following an unsuccessful attempted sale in 2019, the fashion division closed in 2021, while the fragrance business remained with Perfumes y Diseño. DELPOZO returned to fashion in 2024 with Joaquín Trías and Enrique Mellado as its creative duo.
