Jette Joop
Founded in 1997, Jette Joop is a cross-category design and lifestyle brand built around the work of designer Jette Joop, whose industrial-design style emphasizes innovation, creativity, functionality, and independent women. After studying at Art Center College of Design in California and working for Barry Kieselstein-Cord and Polo Ralph Lauren in New York, Joop’s company began as Jette Joop Europe; she later renamed it JETTE GmbH and, from early 2004, presented the public brand as Jette to establish an identity separate from other Joop names. The brand entered fragrance in 2005 with Jette, developed with Lancaster, then Coty’s prestige division. The scent was among the most successful new launches of its period and won the 2006 Duftstars award for Best Parfum Prêt-à-porter. In 2011, Douglas took over the JETTE fragrance license previously held between Jette Joop and Coty, effective 1 October.
