Jill Stuart

Jill Stuart established her eponymous fashion brand in New York and debuted it at New York Fashion Week in 1993. Its designs appeared in the 1995 film Clueless, while the label developed a significant Japanese and wider Asian business during the 1990s; it expanded into Japan in 1997 after a licensing agreement with Sanei International began in 1996. In October 2002, Jill Stuart’s parties sold Itochu’s rights and interests in Japanese licensing agreements, together with related rights, to Sanei International. JILL STUART Beauty followed in 2005 through a licensing agreement between KOSÉ and Jill Stuart Cosmetics, LLC, with KOSÉ developing and manufacturing the cosmetics under the “Innocent Sexy” concept; KOSÉ acquired the global cosmetics trademark rights in 2009. The beauty line’s visual identity pairs innocence with sensuality through vintage references, crystals, rhinestones, diamonds, and vintage-modern contrasts. In 2018, Flora Notis JILL STUART launched as a separate lifestyle line focused on flowers, body care, and fragrance. The fashion brand and Jill by Jill Stuart were rebranded in spring 2023 around a purpose of self-expression. In fragrance, White Floral is identified as JILL STUART’s most popular scent, with its eau de toilette labeled a bestseller.
