Jls
JLS was formed in London in 2007 by Oritsé Williams, who recruited Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and JB Gill. The group rose to public prominence through The X Factor in 2008, finishing second to Alexandra Burke, and developed an early musical identity shaped by boy-band influences, pop and R&B, with a repertoire centered on love songs. During its initial run, JLS achieved five UK number-one singles, two BRIT Awards and five MOBO Awards. In April 2013, the group announced it would split after a final tour. After seven years apart, JLS announced a reunion tour in February 2020; its 2021 return continued the group’s established feel-good energy, with music remaining central to its identity, and brought new music through BMG. JLS entered fragrance in 2012 with Kiss, created by all four members with perfume designer Azzi Glasser. Contemporary coverage reported that Kiss sold out within three hours of launch. Love, also created with Glasser, followed in early 2013.
