The Joe Bloggs Clothing Company was founded in Manchester in 1985, and Shami Ahmed launched the Joe Bloggs label there in 1986 after choosing to create his own clothing line. The label became closely associated with Manchester’s Madchester club and music scene in the late 1980s and 1990s, when its 25-inch flares and casual streetwear were adopted by acts including Happy Mondays, New Order and Inspiral Carpets. Joe Bloggs expanded into toiletries by 1991, with later fragrance releases recorded under the brand. The associated Juice Corporation entered administration in January 2018 while its brand intellectual property was offered for sale. JOE BLOGGS LIMITED was dissolved by compulsory strike-off on 8 January 2019.
