Jorum Studio

Jorum Studio is an independent, perfumer-led fragrance house founded in Edinburgh in 2019 by Scottish perfumer Euan McCall and Chloe Mullen, after the pair had spent more than a decade working through Jorum Laboratories. The laboratory, established in late 2009, provided the earlier foundation for their perfume practice, while Jorum Studio offered a creative outlet for their own work. At launch, the house was entirely self-funded. Its identity is rooted in Scottish perfumery and shaped by nature, culture and everyday observation, with a focus on creating dialogue between perfumer and wearer. The founders formulate, manufacture and assemble the fragrances in Scotland, describing a hands-on process with no outsourcing. The first collection, Progressive Botany Vol. I, arrived in 2019 as six fragrances exploring and augmenting nature while connecting the brand’s craft practice with Scottish heritage. Carduus, with its deliberately Scottish character, helped establish that identity. Later collections included Selective Memory, Scottish Odyssey and Mainline. Unspoken Gesture, the fourth addition to Mainline, extended the house’s experimental vocabulary through a skin-scent concept built around living koji, rice and mimosa.
