Fragrance house
Jovoy Paris
Jovoy Paris was founded in 1923 by Blanche Arvoy, then became dormant in the 1930s. François Hénin and Henri de Pierrefeu took over and revived the house from 2006. In 2010, Hénin gave the Parisian house new life after more than 80 years of obscurity, and by 2020 he was identified as its founder and owner. The relaunch began in 2007 with seven fragrances arranged around major olfactory families, including powdery, floral, and amber styles. The revived house was conceived as contemporary rather than vintage, with new fragrances distinct from its 1920s output. Its creative method draws on stories arising from personal meetings or experiences and places independent perfumers in dialogue with the house. Poudre, from that first collection, was a major bestseller, and customers complained when it was unavailable.
