Juliette Has A Gun

Juliette Has A Gun began as a fragrance project initiated by Romano Ricci in 2005 and was created and launched in 2006. A great-grandson of Nina Ricci, Romano Ricci is the brand’s creator and artistic director, shaping an approach to perfume as an artistic craft and to fragrances with individual character. Created in France between Paris and Grasse, the brand draws on a modern reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s Juliet as independent, contemporary, and unconventional. Antina Ricci joined Romano Ricci shortly after the launch. On January 12, 2021, Cathay Capital became a minority shareholder to support the brand’s international development and direct-to-consumer growth; on May 9, 2023, it increased its participation as Weinberg Capital Partners joined the ownership structure. The brand’s defining fragrance, Not a Perfume, is built around a single ingredient, Cetalox.
