Fragrance house
K-3
K-3, pronounced “K-3,” was co-founded in Paris in 2020 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada and Jonathan Bouchet Manheim. It developed from their earlier design and lifestyle collaborations into a luxury home and lifestyle maison. The brand’s identity brings together Eastern and Western influences: its Roman letter K and Japanese kanji 三 represent the meeting of cultures, while three symbolizes balance and harmony. Its design language draws on Takada’s use of colour, fabric, travel, and cultural influences, as well as kintsugi, the Japanese art associated with beauty in imperfection and resilience. After Takada died in Paris in October 2020, K-3 continued under Manheim’s direction with Takada’s design vision. KTJB LLC is identified as the brand’s owner and seller of record. K-3 entered fine fragrance in 2024 through a partnership with Scent Beauty, introducing three unisex eaux de parfum inspired by Takada’s philosophy and life: 39 Blue Moss, 64 Gardenia, and 85 Tonka.
