Kafka

Kafka is a Munich-based German fashion and fragrance label that has existed since 2003. Designer Robert Kafka launched the project with a longtime friend before developing it with help from other associates. The brand brings fashion and fragrance together through classic elements and a preference for timeless elegance, alongside a philosophy concerned with relating individual and social experience rather than treating them as opposites. Its written philosophy was dated Paris on 24 December 2003 and later revised in Hong Kong in 2017, Prague in 2022, and Munich in 2023. On 28 September 2017, Kafka International GmbH was registered in Munich as the legal continuation of the previously unregistered sole enterprise “Kafka International,” under the registered Kafka International mark; Robert James Wührl is listed as its sole shareholder. In fragrance, True Woman was Kafka International’s first product and launched in March 2012. Kafka develops scents with freelance collaborators rather than a permanent in-house perfumer.
