Kanøn

Kanøn is a Norwegian fragrance brand launched in 1966 with Kanøn for Men by Scannon, a company that also marketed Lanvin and Gucci fragrances in the United States. Its early public identity drew on Scandinavian themes of nature and health, imported Swedish essences, and masculine cologne culture in American advertising. Registered ownership passed from Scannon Ltd. to Masson Agencies Ltd. in 1992 and to Palm Beach Beauté LLC in 2008; the mark transferred to Desire Fragrances, Inc. in 2021, which is listed as its current owner. Kanøn for Men remains the clearest fragrance landmark in the brand’s documented history: the original launch was reported to have become popular in the United States. Norwegian Wood, listed as a 2010 release, provides another recorded expression of Kanøn’s fragrance identity.
