Kat Von D
Kat Von D Beauty was created and launched in 2008 by tattoo artist Kat Von D in partnership with LVMH’s beauty incubator, Kendo. Its original creative foundation drew on tattoo artistry, including the inks and artistic world associated with Kat Von D’s High Voltage Tattoo shop. The brand began with four red lipsticks in 2008 and introduced Tattoo Liner in 2010, a product that became a central signature in its development. On January 16, 2020, Kat Von D sold her remaining shares and left the brand; Kendo became the sole owner, and the business was renamed KVD Vegan Beauty. In March 2021, it adopted the name KVD Beauty and gave the initials the meaning Kara, Veritas, Decora—Latin for Value, Truth, Beauty—while retaining its vegan, cruelty-free, tattoo-artistry-inspired identity. In September 2025, Windsong Global acquired KVD Beauty from Kendo. The brand’s fragrance legacy is closely associated with Saint + Sinner, originally created in 2009 and relaunched in 2017. The pair expressed creative duality through a softer floral Saint and a darker, spicier Sinner.
