Katy Perry

The Katy Perry fragrance line began in November 2010 with Purr, Perry’s first fragrance and an extension of her brand into beauty. Developed with Gigantic Parfums, Purr reflected Perry’s hands-on involvement in the scent and bottle design. Its feline identity drew on a Catwoman stage outfit and appeared in a cat-shaped bottle, expressing Perry’s style, tastes, and fondness for cute imagery. On November 28, 2012, Coty signed Perry to develop and market her signature-fragrance line and assumed distribution of Purr and Meow! Killer Queen, Perry’s third fragrance and first created with Coty, presented a concept centered on a powerful, self-possessed woman and an expression of strength and power. In 2016, Coty identified Katy Perry among the brands in its consumer-beauty portfolio after completing its merger with Procter & Gamble’s specialty-beauty business. Purr remains the clearest fragrance marker of the line’s identity, establishing its feline visual and conceptual language.
