Fragrance house
Kelly & Jones
Kelly + Jones was launched in October 2011 by Kelly Jones, after the wine-and-fragrance pairing idea originated in 2009; the line was rebranded in 2016. Jones entered fragrance after a 13-year career in automotive product planning, opening the Salud mix-your-own fragrance bar in Tucson and later working at Firmenich in New York. The brand’s identity centers on wearable fragrances designed to pair with wine and spirits as social companions to drinking and tasting. The original concept followed criticism of Jones’s vanilla fragrance at a California wine tasting, prompting scents intended to complement wine’s aromatic facets rather than reproduce its smell. Notes of Wine established this method by translating wine-varietal aromas into complementary perfumes. In September 2016, the Reserve Collection reinterpreted Notes of Wine; in October 2017, Eau de Mezcal extended the pairing concept to agave spirits through a collection tied to Oaxaca’s mezcal artisans and landscape. By 2025, the brand’s fragrances were designed for shared use at social occasions, including passing a scent around at a dinner party.
