Kierin NYC
Kierin NYC is an independent American perfumery founded in 2018 around fragrance as art and self-expression, and it launched publicly in May of that year with four fragrances. Co-founded by Mona Maine de Biran, Didier Maine de Biran, and Chris Rosasco, the brand was conceived to challenge conventional fragrance marketing and gender-based categorization, with diversity, inclusion, and individuality as core values. Its fragrance narratives draw on real New York City experiences and focus on people and lived stories rather than places, celebrity imagery, or gendered roles. Mona and Didier developed the early collection collaboratively with perfumer Mathieu Nardin; Didier brought previous beauty-industry experience from Chanel, Prada, Bvlgari, and Carolina Herrera, while Rosasco was identified as the brand’s artist and creative visionary. Later releases extended the New York frame: Rose Ink, launched in 2020 with Jérôme Epinette, drew on tattoo culture, and Pier NY, launched in 2021 as the sixth fragrance, took its inspiration from the city’s piers in an urban aquatic narrative. Kierin currently describes itself as independent and woman-owned and operates through KIERIN Holdings, LLC.
