Kimberly New York

Established in 2016 by Kimberly Walker, Kimberly New York is a Black-owned fine perfumery and creative niche fragrance house with a focus on art, culture, and love. Born in Jamaica and raised between New York City and St. Petersburg, Florida, Walker spent about ten years as a luxury-fragrance sales manager before founding the brand, where she observed a lack of Black-owned fragrance houses and Black female perfumers. She began studying fragrance composition and chemistry independently in 2015 and developed Artsy through repeated trials; the first fragrance required 29 iterations to finalize. Walker is the brand’s owner and perfumer, creating fragrances for men and women while drawing on her Jamaican heritage and experiences in New York and Florida. By 2021, the brand had expanded beyond its initial fragrance into the Echelon collection, described as a love letter to Black men, and the Diaspora collection, a celebration of facets of Black culture. Artsy is Walker’s signature scent, everyday fragrance, and the brand’s number-one top seller.
