Fragrance house
Kinski
Kinski is a German celebrity fragrance brand associated with the legacy of actor Klaus Kinski (1926–1991). Its identity translates his eccentric, confrontational screen persona into a fragrance concept rather than following the model of a conventional designer-perfume house. The project was commissioned by Peter Geyer, described as the manager of Klaus Kinski’s legacy and head of Kinski Productions, and the fragrance launched in 2011 under license from Kinski Productions to mark the twentieth anniversary of Kinski’s death. Geza Schön created the scent, while Paul White of Me Company was credited with the bottle and fragrance design, including an expressionistic, fragmented depiction of Kinski. The brand is especially associated with the single fragrance Kinski, whose concept combines cassis, juniper and castoreum with oceanic, animalic and woody accords intended to reflect his contradictory public persona and love of the sea.
