Kokeshi
Kokeshi’s concept originated after Priscilla Beaulieu returned from Japan in 1997 with a traditional kokeshi doll and imagined French fragrance in a doll-shaped bottle for juniors and teenagers. Created and developed by Millennium Fragrances, the French company founded by Frédéric and Priscilla Beaulieu, Kokeshi released its first fragrances in 2012. The brand combines Japanese kokeshi-doll imagery with French fragrance and playful messages attached to each character. Its initial collection comprised five fragrances themed around friendship, beauty, love, luck and strength. The concept was later refreshed through collaborations with artists, including Valeria Attinelli and Jeremy Scott. Scott’s 2016 redesign introduced five dolls drawn from his textile designs and connected to his fashion work at Moschino, reshaping Kokeshi’s public creative identity. In fragrance terms, Cheery achieved the greatest overall success in the documented record, while Cheery and Litchee performed similarly within the Valeria Attinelli collection.
