L'Amande

L’Amande was founded in Marseille in 1884 as Huilerie & Savonnerie de L’Amande, with roots in the Garcin & Rabattu soapmaking tradition. During the 1950s, it moved across the Alps to Savona, Italy, after wartime losses ended the original Marseille operation; machinery, original formulations, and customers passed to the Italian L’Amande company. From its origins in solid Marseille soaps, the brand developed liquid soaps, creams, bath products, shampoos, toothpaste, lip-care products, and eau de parfum while retaining its soapmaking heritage. L’Amande was registered in Italy’s Special Register of Historical Marks of National Interest on 17 January 2022. Naturalia Tantum, controlled by Assietta Private Equity, acquired L’Amande in January 2023; on 23 July 2024, H.I.G. Capital acquired a controlling interest in Naturalia Tantum, changing the brand’s indirect ownership context. Its public identity brings together Mediterranean soapmaking tradition, natural personal care, and fragrance inspired by the coastal territory between Genoa and Marseille. In June 2026, L’Amande introduced a renewed visual identity and updated brand lines, clarifying its artisanal, natural, Mediterranean, and fragrance-led codes. Its Anniversary 1884 collection pays homage to eau de Cologne tradition, with the Eau de Parfum at its core.
