L'Eau de Riô

L’Eau de Riô was launched in Rio de Janeiro in late 2012 as a Brazilian fragrance brand created by entrepreneur Marc Hoffman. Conceived to express the city’s lifestyle through light, fresh fragrances suited to its warm climate, the brand introduced an initial Eau de Toilette collection of five scents named for Rio locations: Avenida Atlântica, Ipanema, Jardim Botânico, Paraty, and Pedra Bonita. The fragrances were developed with Swiss fragrance company Firmenich. By 2013, L’Eau de Riô products had reached Paris department store Le Bon Marché, and the brand later added an Eau de Cologne line inspired by beach communities associated with postos 6, 9, 10, and 12, whose place names became the products’ names.
