L'Entropiste

L’Entropiste was founded in Paris in 2025 by Denis Bellaïche and Kris Fang. Conceived as a creative manifesto, the house takes entropy—movement from order toward disorder, followed by the emergence of a new harmony—as its guiding idea. Fang originated the concept and creative direction, while Bertrand Duchaufour was given broad freedom to define the house’s olfactory signature; he signs all of its fragrances as its sole signature perfumer. Reported at its March 2025 launch, the first collection comprised six fragrances and four scented candles, built from direct, evolving contrasts with incense as a recurring thread. By late 2025, the brand’s public identity was framed around unisex author perfumery, artistic creation, deliberate imbalance, and Duchaufour’s recurring use of incense. Its fragrance Dorian’s Spleen, a smoky gourmand built around whisky, coffee, chocolate, and ash and inspired by Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, received the 2026 Fragrance Foundation France Annual Revelations award for Best Niche Perfume in the independent brands, Rising Stars category.
