La Martina

La Martina was founded in Buenos Aires in 1985 by Lando Simonetti as a specialist in high-performance polo equipment. It began with leather saddles and boots before expanding into shirts, caps, polo clothing, and accessories, while building its identity around polo, Argentine roots, family, fair play, and the estancia lifestyle. During the 1990s, the brand formed a high-handicap polo team, opened La Casona in Buenos Aires, and became official supplier of the polo World Championship. As polo wear moved toward mainstream fashion, Simonetti refocused La Martina on polo authenticity and a more selective European distribution strategy. A 2010 global licensing agreement with Guards Polo Club brought its Military Jacket to international recognition. In 2025, Lando Simonetti was identified as La Martina’s owner after rejecting purchase approaches from Louis Vuitton and Adidas; the official biography places the brand under Adrian Simonetti’s leadership. For Spring 2026, La Martina collaborated with Supreme on a collection connecting its polo heritage codes with a global streetwear audience.
