La Parfumerie Moderne

La Parfumerie Moderne is a Parisian perfume house founded by Philippe Neirinck and registered as a newly created business in 2013, with activity beginning on 1 November that year. Its identity grew from Neirinck’s childhood discovery of an unlabeled perfume bottle in a hotel suite, an experience associated with recovering the memory of a scent, the past, and the mystery of time. The house’s creative world draws on the Belle Époque, historic hotels, remembered interiors, and earlier eras of perfumery. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato created the fragrances associated with the project, whose initial public milestone came in 2014 with the introduction of three fragrances together. In 2017, Belles Rives extended the hotel-centered concept through inspiration from the Beau-Rivage palace on Lake Geneva, again pairing Neirinck with Corticchiato. Désarmant offers a direct fragrance expression of the house’s origin story: its lilac concept originated from the unidentified hotel-bottle memory at the beginning of the brand’s narrative.
