La Via Del Profumo

La Via Del Profumo is an Italian perfume business based in Montecolombo. Its creative identity is closely tied to perfumer Dominique Dubrana, also known as AbdesSalaam Attar, who began making perfumes in 1986 after working with essential oils and studying aromatherapy. His first perfume, Oak Moss, was created while he was selling essential oils as a street seller; after people complimented its scent, he adapted oak-moss absolute into a wearable composition. The brand’s work extends beyond composition into the study of natural fragrant materials, writing, teaching, and related fragrance practice. Its fragrance history includes Mecca Balsam, added to the Scents of the Soul collection in 2010 after Dubrana’s autumn 2009 journey to Mecca; the perfume was conceived to evoke the city’s olfactory atmosphere. Tawaf, from the Arabic series, draws on the ritual circling of the Kaaba and the scents of pilgrims, rose water, and oppoponax.
