Laboratoires Cadentia

Laboratoires Cadentia traces its origins to 1945 in Provence, near Grasse, where Jean Soutter’s artisanal workshop made perfumes, eaux de Cologne, and home fragrances. The company began in Marseille with the early eau de Cologne names Jean d’Aigle and Jean des Salines, then moved to Aubagne in the early 1990s, strengthening its Provençal identity and connection with the Garlaban area. Stéphanie Venier-Dargent joined in 1995 and acquired the business in 2010 after 15 years with the company; in August 2017, she associated with Béatrice Leduby and the public name changed to Cadentia. Simon Ménard acquired the company in 2019. In 2020, it shifted from a primarily formulation and private-label orientation into a finished-products brand named Laboratoires Cadentia, and in 2025 adopted Cadentia Group to distinguish private-label services from its own brands. Its current identity combines perfume expertise with scented-care products for everyday hygiene. The fragrance legacy remains tied to eau de Cologne, while perfumier Marc Florens, who joined in 1985, created Eau des Collines from the landscape around Aubagne and Garlaban.
