Lace

Lace is a Yardley fragrance launched in 1982 and created by perfumer Dominique Ropion. It is classified as a floral-aldehyde fragrance, with aldehydes, rose, and oakmoss among its principal listed elements. Its parent house, Yardley London, traces its formal history to 1770, when the Cleaver family founded the business that developed into a British soap and perfumery house. Yardley’s fragrance identity was built around English lavender, which remains central to its fragrance ranges; in the 1930s, the company developed its own Lavandula angustifolia cultivar. In August 1998, Yardley entered receivership following an attempted repositioning away from its established lace-and-lavender image toward a younger cosmetics identity. Lace continued as a distinct fragrance brand after its Yardley origin and is currently owned by Fine Fragrances & Cosmetics Ltd.
