Lancetti

Lancetti emerged from the work of Italian designer Pino Lancetti, who opened his atelier in Rome in 1961 and presented the brand’s first fashion show at Palazzo Pitti’s Sala Bianca. After beginning his career in 1954 at Princess Lola Giovannelli’s atelier, Lancetti brought his experience as a painter and ceramic decorator into fashion. His artistic engagement shaped collections influenced by painting and major artistic traditions, expressed through richly colored printed fabrics and later embroidery. During the 1970s and 1980s, the brand drew on Renaissance painting, Art Deco, Mediterranean folklore, and East Asian traditions, earning Lancetti the press nickname “Tailor Painter.” A 1998 retrospective displayed 100 dresses from the historical archive. The Paci family acquired the brand in 2000, and Lancetti fragrances were produced by Weruska & Joel. Lancetti later marked its 50-year history with a 2012 Re-Edition event and the launch of the Lancetti Celebration fragrance. Today, it is presented as a licensed brand, with Compafin S.r.l. identified in its Italian corporate footer.
