Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier Cosmetics was founded in 1996 by French makeup artist Laura Mercier, whose signature concept was the “Flawless Face.” Shaped by Mercier’s work in fashion editorials and advertising, the brand developed an artistry-led identity focused on enhancing natural features rather than masking them, particularly through natural-looking complexion products. In July 2016, Shiseido Americas acquired Gurwitch Products and its Laura Mercier brand portfolio. On December 6, 2021, Shiseido transferred the brand’s related assets to AI Beauty Holdings Ltd., an entity owned by Advent International; Laura Mercier subsequently became part of Orveon alongside bareMinerals and BUXOM. Under Orveon, the brand pursued a modern repositioning around natural-looking makeup and the Real Flawless complexion concept. In 2026, Laura Mercier marked three decades with the launch of the Laura Mercier Collective, a working community contributing to creative concepts, colors, and formulas. Its fragrance offering includes Ambre Vanille, officially presented as a signature scent inspired by amber and vanilla.
