Layer'r

Layer'r was launched in India in 2013 by Adjavis Venture Limited, a company founded by Devendra N. Patel. Created as a personal-care and fragrance business, it initially focused on fragrance products before extending into other personal-care categories. Its early fragrance portfolio included Layer'r Shot, a men's body-spray range, and Layer'r Wottagirl, a women's body-splash range. Transparent, see-through packaging and fragrance positioning tailored to Indian consumers became recognizable features of the Shot and Wottagirl ranges. Adjavis Venture expanded the brand beyond India in November 2014 through a partnership with Bangladesh's Pearl International. Shot is described as one of the company's top-selling men's fragrance brands, while Wottagirl was its first women's body-splash brand in India. In June 2022, Layer'r Shot advertising was called a serious breach and against public interest by ASCI; the company apologized and said it had instructed media partners to stop broadcasting the ads from June 4.
