Fragrance house
Le Couvent
Le Couvent was created in 2004 by the L’Occitane group under the name Le Couvent des Minimes. Its heritage reaches back to a site founded in 1614 in southern France and associated with Louis Feuillée, a botanist to Louis XIV; the original identity also drew on the convent in Mane, Provence, and its associations with 19th-century nuns, colognes, and skincare recipes. In January 2017, L’Occitane sold the brand to HLD Group and Didier Tabary. After the acquisition, the brand was restructured as a French vegan high-perfumery house with fragrance and skincare offerings. Its fragrance direction developed collections centered on botanical colognes, travel-inspired remarkable perfumes, and place-based interior fragrances, while its contemporary identity remains tied to botanical and monastic heritage. Cologne of the Missions, launched in 2011, is associated with much of the following the brand has attracted.
