Le Jardin Retrouvé

Le Jardin Retrouvé is a French family-run haute perfumery house founded in 1975 by master perfumer Yuri Gutsatz and his wife, Arlette. Yuri established the house in defense of the perfumer’s creative freedom, while Arlette shaped its visual identity and commercial development, including its first logo. The original house extended beyond perfume into beauty and scented-home products such as shampoos, beauty oils, scrubs, candles, soaps, and incense. After the founders’ deaths in 2005 and 2012, it entered a dormant period before their son Michel Gutsatz and artist Clara Feder revived it in the mid-2010s. The relaunch preserved Yuri’s formulas, processes, and historical suppliers while adapting the formulas to contemporary IFRA requirements, and connected the fragrances to real or imagined gardens associated with memory, protection, peace, beauty, and wellbeing. During the revival, perfumer Maxence Moutte created new house fragrances, beginning with Mousse Arashiyama in 2021. In 2025, the house marked its 50th anniversary with Immortelle Babylone, developed from a final fragrance idea left by Yuri and completed by Moutte. Cuir de Russie, created by Yuri in 1977, is a defining house fragrance.
