Le Parfum Citoyen

Founded in Nice in 2017 by Adrien Gautier, the grandson of a perfumer and a former recruitment professional, Le Parfum Citoyen began through crowdfunding, launching on July 6 before opening its e-shop in October. Its founding idea was to link French artisanal perfumery with local independent suppliers while offering an alternative to mainstream fragrance marketing, initially for younger consumers. The house organizes its fragrances as “olfactory portraits,” built around three character traits that invite customers to identify with a personality. It presents itself as an ethical and civic French perfumery, with French partners, artisanal production in the Grasse region, vegan formulas, and short production circuits. The 2017 launch comprised ten fragrances divided between masculine and feminine portraits, while the broader olfactory-portrait collection forms the clearest documented thread in its fragrance identity. In 2018, the brand took part in Cosmoprof Worldwide and Maison & Objet Paris. In May 2021, it co-created LÙA with Marie Lopez, known as EnjoyPhoenix, a collaboration that broadened its national media and audience reach.
