Le Ré Noir

Le Ré Noir is an independent perfume brand associated with Saint Petersburg and created by Russian perfumer Valery Sokolov. His path into perfumery began with dissatisfaction at the perfumes available in shops; he first made fragrances for himself, then for friends and other customers. The brand’s creative identity rests on his independent authorship, with repeated reformulation, close attention to compositional detail, and many trials in pursuit of an idea. From 2018 onward, Le Ré Noir was recorded in Fragrantica features, with a 2018 VAST ART jury evaluation and a 2019 Fragrantica editors’ selection that included #336 PLVN. PLVN was described by Sokolov as emotionally bold and a fragrance he was particularly proud of, and the official site marks it as a hit while connecting it with writer Viktor Pelevin’s work. #261 Blanc was described by Sokolov as his most popular fragrance and is also marked as a hit.
