Lentheric

Lentheric traces its heritage to Guillaume-Louis Lenthéric, who opened a salon at 245 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1875; the business later developed into a house of perfume, beauty products, and hairdressing. It expanded into cosmetics, soaps, millinery, and related personal-care goods, while its fragrances received a silver medal at the 1895 international exhibition in Amsterdam and a gold medal at the 1900 Paris exhibition. After Lenthéric’s death in 1912, Velsch et Holtz acquired the company. Indigo Brands acquired the worldwide Lentheric trademark in 2003 and owns the brand’s global rights. Lentheric’s fragrance legacy is particularly associated with Tweed, which originated in France as Risque-Tout in 1933, was renamed for American and British markets, and became the company’s most successful fragrance in the English-speaking market. Bouquet Lenthéric, introduced in 1934, was a series of eau de colognes with perfume accents developed for the American market.
