Les Ecuadors
Les Ecuadors is a Belgian perfume creator, artisan perfumer and jeweller based in Brussels. Its retail history dates to 1987, when brothers Marino and Demetrio Fato opened their first Brussels boutique. The house developed from their jewellery business, and its name refers to a fifteenth-century caravel associated with the search for new treasures. The brothers later created a perfume line to complement their jewellery collection, with help from their uncle Djorda Fato, who had worked in perfumery for around 30 years. The brand’s creative identity links jewellery and fragrance as forms of personal adornment that reveal the character of the wearer. Djorda Fato is identified as the perfumer associated with Les Ecuadors and is credited with its perfume creations. Ambre is described as a flagship Les Ecuadors creation and inspired the name of the D’Ocre et D’Ambre shop. The wider fragrance identity is eclectic, encompassing patchouli, amber, musk, floral, fig and oud compositions.
