Lesquendieu

Founded in Paris in 1903 by Joseph Lesquendieu, a graduate of the Amiens School of Pharmacy, Lesquendieu began at 5 bis rue de la Tacherie. The house established an American division in New York in 1904, followed by international distributor activity recorded in 1908. In 1929, Lehn & Fink acquired Lesquendieu, Inc., the New York company, through a share swap; the transaction’s relationship to the French companies is not established. Joseph Lesquendieu died in 1962, and perfume production continued until the late 1970s. After a dormant period beginning in the early 1980s, a revival project began in 2014–2015. In 2015, his grandson Jérôme Lesquendieu relaunched the family house, combining inherited savoir-faire with modernity. Its creative identity centers on inventiveness, high-quality raw materials, small-scale production, and continuity with Joseph’s methods. The revived house launched five Historic fragrances from family archives in 2016 and added an Oriental Collection in 2021, directed by Jérôme and inspired by the founder’s Middle Eastern travels.
