Liaison de Parfum
Liaison de Parfum was introduced in 2013 by Austrian artist and entrepreneur Nana de Bary. Its story grew from de Bary’s earlier work in Vienna’s fashion-and-beauty world: after living in New York, she opened a self-titled concept shop in Vienna in 1998 and later created an eponymous perfume line. Following the 2004 Thailand tsunami, which she survived, injuries led her to close her boutiques; contractual restrictions and the loss of permission to use her name after the earlier Nanadebary line passed to a former U.S. partner prompted a new label. Liaison de Parfum’s creative identity links fragrance with emotion, personal memory, and different stages of life, expressed through minimally branded bottles with handwritten names and accompanying texts. The brand launched with four fragrances—Stay With Me, I Dare You, Resist Me, and No Matter What—each framed as an homage to a season or life stage and given its own emotional archetype. As If followed in 2016.
