Liz Earle
Liz Earle Beauty Co. began in 1995, when Liz Earle and Kim Buckland joined forces to create skincare after finding existing options inadequate for their different skin types. Originating on the Isle of Wight, the brand grew from a single store and was first launched on QVC before expanding into other retail channels. Its identity combines naturally active botanical ingredients, responsible sourcing and cruelty-free standards with scientific know-how. Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser was one of its first products and a key breakthrough for the brand; it has received more than 130 UK awards and has been described as a cult classic and multi-award-winner. Avon acquired the company in 2010, while it remained a separately managed stand-alone brand under its founders. Liz Earle and Kim Buckland are no longer part of the company, which is owned by The Boots Group. On 28 August 2025, Boots became a separately owned private company following its acquisition by investment funds managed by Sycamore Partners in partnership with Stefano Pessina, his family and other investors.
