L’Office des Parfums traces its origins to 1926, when it created eaux de Cologne for Parisian department stores, including Printemps. The Darmon family acquired the company in 1960, shifting distribution toward the mass market and renaming it Parfumerie AM Diffusion; from the 1960s through 2000, it developed fragrances under the Les Parfums de Saint-Hubert name. In 2017, Parfumerie AM Diffusion introduced the independent brands Diane Castel, Style Paris and Les Essentiels, before adopting the L’Office des Parfums name for its modern identity. Les Essentiels is an eleven-fragrance collection built around natural-origin ingredients, each eau de parfum highlighting a principal ingredient; its minimalist, nature-oriented visual identity features a butterfly as a symbol of metamorphosis.
