Louis Feraud

Louis Féraud began making clothes with his wife, Zizi, and operating a boutique in Cannes before establishing a Paris shop and workshop in 1956 and presenting his first couture collection in 1960. His public identity combined art and couture, expressed through graphic black-and-white geometries, bright clothing, and colorful scarf designs. Brigitte Bardot helped raise the house’s profile in the 1960s by wearing Féraud’s designs in films and public appearances. The business expanded into ready-to-wear through a 1970 partnership with German firm Fink and introduced menswear in 1975. Féraud received the Golden Thimble for couture in 1978 and 1984 and was named an officer of France’s Legion of Honour in 1994. After ownership changes in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Dubai-based Paris Group acquired the house in 2011. Féraud also entered designer fragrance in collaboration with Avon, with Fantasque and Fer de Féraud identified as major fragrance names under the Louis Féraud banner. Fantasque was reported as a success in Japan and Saudi Arabia.
