Maher Olfactive

Founded in 2020 by American perfumer Shawn Maher, Maher Olfactive developed alongside Chatillon Lux, the earlier venture Maher began in 2015 as a skincare and shaving-oriented business before it evolved toward perfumery. Maher Olfactive was created as a newer, more niche-oriented house to allow greater freedom in materials and budget than Maher’s other brand. Its creative identity is olfactory art, emphasizing experimentation, the reframing of familiar materials, and the use of natural materials in compositions connected to nature, music, and personal inspiration. Maher is the brand’s founder and perfumer, having developed his practice through self-directed study of textbooks and experimentation with fragrance materials. In 2023, Red Skies was listed as a runner-up in the artisan category of the Art and Olfaction Awards.
