Mahogany

Founded in Brazil in 1991 by Jaime Drummond, Mahogany emerged as the country began opening its market to imports, aiming to offer premium cosmetics in what its founders considered an underserved market. After difficulties in department stores and traditional retail in 1998 and 1999, the company developed a franchising model, beginning market studies in 2005 and offering franchises from 2006. It diversified beyond its liquid-soap-centered beginnings toward colognes in 2010, while shaping its identity around sensory personal-care and home rituals, with fragrance used to express memories, emotions, and personal stories. The name refers to mogno, a Brazilian tree that Drummond associated with depth, strength, quality, and sophistication. Mahogany began with perfumery, launching Green Note, Cedar Wood, and Spring Scent in 1991, and marked its 30th anniversary in 2021 with Experience, its first niche-perfumery line. Make Me Fever Gold is identified as a best-seller and olfactory icon and was reported to have won the ABIHPEC Beleza Brasil perfumery award; Make Me Fever Blue launched in 2019.
