Fragrance house

Maison Anonyme

Founded in 2016 by perfumer Christopher Gordon, Maison Anonyme draws on his fine-arts background in its packaging and pursuit of unusual fragrance accords. Its identity combines classical perfumery technique with an alternative to mass-market fragrance, expressed through work described as sensual, playful, and cerebral, with attention to sustainability and hand blending and bottling. The house’s concept turns on privacy, intimacy, secrecy, and hidden meaning, creating visual and olfactory tension between opposites such as light and dark and nature and artifice. Its first collection—L’Immortel, Pale Fire, and Vespero—was entered into the Osmothèque archives in Versailles in 2018; the fragrances explored woods, resins, and flowers across distinct emotional registers. In 2021, Maison Anonyme was the subject of a five-year survey exhibition at Shoot the Lobster, while a collaboration with Sylvia Carlock’s 2GoodLuck had produced 23 fragrances for ritual oils and related products. Hallucinex, described as the house’s third line, explores memories and sensations associated with DMT, LSD, and THC through conceptual fragrance compositions without active substances.
