Maison Cataliya

Maison Cataliya began in 2021 as a project founded by Dahmane Ouafi, following his creation of Maison Maïssa in 2018. Conceived as a personal act of cultural transmission to his eldest daughter, Cataliya, the house presents a more intimate continuation of Ouafi’s perfume work. Its identity brings French niche perfumery into dialogue with Mediterranean and North African ceramic heritage, particularly the Zellige mosaic tradition. Each fragrance is connected to a historical ceramic or Mediterranean cultural story, using perfume to convey memories, craft traditions, and regional heritage. The inaugural collection, launched in 2025, comprised six extrait de parfum creations made with Sofia Bardelli and Emna Doghri. Mezghenna is described as Ouafi’s most personal fragrance, inspired by childhood memories and the Zellige motifs of his family home in Algiers’s Casbah. A 2026 update identifies Antoine Lie as the perfumer behind Maison Cataliya’s latest creations.
