Maison d'Etto
Founded and launched in 2019 by Brianna Lipovsky, Maison d’Etto grew from her central interests in horses and scent, alongside a background in luxury, fashion, design, and brand building. Its first collection, Connection to Self, drew on five horses that had pivotal effects on Lipovsky’s life. The brand brings together olfactory storytelling, nature, art, architecture, and design, treating fragrance as an emotional metaphor rather than a literal recreation of an individual horse’s smell. Presented as gender-neutral, Maison d’Etto focuses on connection, reflection, well-being, and nurturing the human spirit. Its sculptural fragrance vessels were created in collaboration with creative director Lotta Nieminen, with a visual language influenced by Brutalist and minimalist architecture. Carlos Benaïm created Rotano and Karat for the brand, drawing on impressions of stables, horses, wood, saddles, dirt, grass, and hay. Rotano is a woody leather fragrance inspired by a powerful horse and a specific riding memory. During the first wave of COVID-19, Maison d’Etto partnered with IFF and other brands to donate 500 care packages to healthcare workers.
