Maison de L'Asie

Maison de L'Asie is a Singapore-founded fragrance house established by Elizabeth Liau. Drawing on Liau’s Singaporean, Shanghainese, Malay and Dutch-Indonesian heritage, as well as her engagement with travel, finance, the arts, cinema and music, the house combines classical French perfumery with an Asian sensibility. Its fragrances take Asian places as narrative starting points without reducing Asian identity to a single stereotype, and are organized into chapters linked to Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and India, each shaped by philosophical or emotional themes as well as geography. The first fragrances appeared in 2021, followed by the house’s debut at Milan’s Esxence niche-perfumery exhibition in 2023. Mother x Love, created after Liau’s mother died, was her first scent and marks the emotional beginning of the brand’s storytelling vocabulary. Nanyang is described as Maison de L’Asie’s best-selling scent and was selected by the International Perfume Museum in Grasse for an exhibition of iconic Asian perfumes.
