Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Founded in 2009 by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and Marc Chaya, Maison Francis Kurkdjian combines fragrance creation with business leadership. The founders conceived the house as a territory of free expression in contemporary fragrance, characterized by sensuality, generosity and multiple facets. Its collection is presented as a fragrance wardrobe rooted in French luxury perfumery and a contemporary approach to creating and wearing perfume. Before the house was founded, Kurkdjian opened a bespoke perfume workshop in 2001 and began artistic fragrance collaborations in 2003, including an olfactory installation for Sophie Calle. The house’s creative identity extends into projects connecting perfume with other disciplines and senses. In 2014, Kurkdjian created Baccarat Rouge 540 for Baccarat’s 250th anniversary. First issued as 250 numbered flacons, it sold out almost immediately before subsequent production appeared under the Maison Francis Kurkdjian label; in 2016, it entered the house’s permanent collection. In March 2024, Kurkdjian composed three fragrances for a Cocteau and Philip Glass concert at Paris’s Cité de la Musique.
