Fragrance house
Maison Noir
Founded in Zurich in 2021 by Claudio Denz and David Weber, Maison Noir is a Swiss-designed, French-crafted fragrance brand built as an independent project. Denz brought nearly two decades of fragrance-industry experience, while Weber came from Swiss finance after an MBA in Sydney. The house frames its work through a fictional townhouse of colored, numbered doors, visual worlds, and personas, complemented by a three-digit Fragrance Wheel intended to make scent easier to understand before smelling it. Each fragrance begins with a narrative translated into words and images, which guides the perfumer brief and emotional direction of the composition. Maison Noir works with multiple perfumers: Alexandra Monet created four early fragrances, while Jérôme Epinette created Somnia 517 and Michel Almairac created Icarus 347. In 2025, the brand announced a refinement of its color language, presentation, and wider identity into a clearer, more contemporary expression.
