Mandate
Mandate is a men’s aftershave and Eau de Toilette launched in 1976. Its original manufacturer was Shulton, and reference sources classify the fragrance as a masculine fougère. After Procter & Gamble acquired Shulton in 1990, Mandate was among the former Shulton fragrances sold to Dana; in 1996, P&G sold Mandate and other mass-market fragrance brands to Dana Perfumes, a division of Renaissance Cosmetics. Dana later sold Mandate to Eden Classic, which sold worldwide rights to UK-based Jigsaw ESL in 2012. The defining fragrance associated with the name is Mandate Aftershave/Eau de Toilette, an aromatic, herbal and woody composition built around rosemary, lavender, bergamot, sage, geranium, clove, cinnamon, pine, cedar, oak moss, tonka, amber and musk.
