Manish Arora
Manish Arora launched his eponymous label in 1997, building its visual identity around vivid colour, Indian heritage, and craft techniques such as embroidery, appliqué, and traditional embellishment translated into contemporary fashion. Arora presented at London Fashion Week in 2005 and showed in Paris Fashion Week in 2007, an appearance described as the first Paris Fashion Week catwalk show by an Indian designer. In 2009, he became a member of France’s Fédération de Prêt-à-Porter. In 2011, he became creative director of Paco Rabanne’s womenswear line, producing two seasons before leaving in 2012 to focus on his own label. His first perfume collection, Ready To Love, was presented in 2018 after a fragrance partnership with Designer Parfums was announced in 2017. By 2020, all of Arora’s businesses had shut down, and by 2023 he had wound down the label with no plan to revive it while continuing selected creative projects.
